RAM installation guide

How to install your DIMM RAM

The RAM installation guide is easy to follow up.

To install the DIMM RAM,( I choose the DIMM as example because most motherboards come equip with DIMM socket),hold the module straight up at a 90 degree angle and gently set aside the clips that suppose to hold the memory bar and push down firmly until the clips on both sides of the socket pop into place.

The sockets are numbered but you can install your RAM in either one of them, it will work perfectly.

Very important: most of today’s computer came with the DIMM socket.

The SDR DIMM has 168 pins and 2 notches that allow you to install the RAM in only one direction; the RAM will not be installed if you do not respect the orientation of the notches.

The DDR DIMM used with the newer Pentium 4 systems has 184 pins and only one notch.

make sure all the RAM modules are properly seated in their slot.
