How Does CPU Works?

Two common questions most people ask:what is a CPU or Processor and How does CPU works?
processors are always refer to CPU( central processing unit).
The two best cpus you can purchase in the market today are INTEL AND AMD

The CPU is the brain of the computer, everything that goes on in your PC
at some point goes through your CPU. When you are buying a PC one of the main selling feature is always the speed of the CPU. You will notice speed like 1 GHz 2.4 GHz or 3 GHz PC... The truth is that the CPU is set at these speeds and has no relevance
on what else you could have inside your PC. For more INFO check the processors comparison Guide.

How does CPU works?

The principal elements of all the best cpusare:

A clock which rhythm the processor. Between two signals of clock the processor carries out an action. An instruction requires one or more actions of the processor. More the clock has a high frequency; more instructions are carried out in a second.
(the unit selected to characterize the number of instructions treated per unit of time is generally the (MIPS: Million instructions per second). For example a CPU having a frequency of 1 GHz(GIGA Hertz) carries out 1 000 000 000 of instructions a second.

A bus management unit, which manages flows of information.

An instruction unit which reads the data arriving, decodes them then sends them to the execution unit.

An execution unit executes the tasks coming from the instruction unit.

Cache memory (pronounce Cash)
The cache memory is a very fast memory making it possible to reduce the latency time for the data stored in the RAM. Indeed, the RAM memory has a slower speed than the processor.

Nevertheless there are memories such as Cache, much faster, but whose cost is very high. To speed up the computer, the Cache is placed near the processor and stored temporarily the data waiting to be executed by the processor. The recent computers have several types of Cache:

How Does CPU Works: type of Cache

L1 cache: level 1 cache
L1 cache is integrated to the processor and divided in two parts:

• The first part is the instruction cache that contains instructions coming from the RAM.

• The second part is the data cache that contains data coming from the RAM and recent data coming from the processor.

L2 cache: level 2 cache
Level 2 cache is not integrated to the processor. It is located between the processor and the RAM. It’s much faster than the RAM but slower than the level 1 cache.

L3 cache: level 3 cache is located on the motherboard. It’s much slower than L1 and L2 cache.

These level of cache help reduce the latency time during data transfer between the different types of memory.

While the processor is executing his tasks, the L1 cache can communicate with the L2 cache and transfer data without involving the processor. As well, the L2 cache can communicate with L3 cache and transfer data without blocking the work of the processor.

What to consider when buying best cpus

there are Three important features when consider buying best cpus:

The speed: usually in MHz or GHZ is the actual frequency at which the processor executes instructions. Higher speed means faster processor.

The bus speed sometimes called FSB: is the frequency at which the data circulated inside the processor and between the processor and the motherboard. Bus speed is less than the actual processor speed.

The cache: measured in (kilo bytes: KB or Mega Bytes: MB) is a fast memory. More instructions and data the memory can hold, faster will be the processor and your computer. Do not confound it with the RAM often called main memory.
