Planning to build computers

Planning

when planning to build computers you must first check to ensure you have all the parts you needed.

Make sure you have all the following parts:

• The case
• The motherboard
• The CPU
• RAM
• Hard drive
• Floppy drive
• CD-rom
• Graphic card
• Sound card

Keep every part in their bags; do not open yet to prevent electro static discharge.

Tools needed to do the job

When planning to build computers, a computer technician does not need a large toolbox. Often a briefcase will be sufficient to carry everything that you will need. The following list includes a minimum of hand tools that will meet most needs.

• Screwdrivers: one large and one small flathead and a set of Philips head( sometimes called a cross)
• Tweezers: convenient for picking up lost parts
• Needle-nose pliers: think of them as an extension of your finger
• Compressed air: to remove dust
• flashlight:for seeing in dark places
• curved hemostats:for picking up and holding small parts

Remember never screw to tight, never force.

One of the most important tools is the antistatic wrist strap that is use to prevent electro static discharge (ESD). You have to maintain all components and yourself at the same potential (ground potential) to prevent ESD. It’s a must to wear an antistatic wrist strap before working with electronic components.
